Middleton Top - Peak District Walk
Sunday 6th July 2014
A short evening stroll whose main aim was to let me play with my graduated filters.
Start: Middleton Top (SK 2752 5516)
Route: Middleton Top - Middleton Moor - High Peak Trail - Middleton Top
Distance: 1.75 miles Ascent: 56 metres Time Taken: 1 hour 30 mins
Terrain: Clear paths
Weather: Warm
Pub Visited: None Ale Drunk: None
Having sat in the car whilst it rained our paitence was rewarded with a rainbow forming as we looked across towards Black Rocks.
Middleton Top.
Pausing on the path up to the moor I set the camera up to try out the filters as the sun catches the chimney on Middleton Top.
Diverting off the path for a view across the valley to Crich Stand.
Crossing the moor the sun lighting up the cliffs catches my attention. The masts at Alport Stone are visible in the distance.
Heading down towards the High Peak Trail and the turbines above Carsington Water are in view.
Green power might be a good thing but I'd rather see the money invested in supplying
everyone with solar panels than the landscape being blighted by these things.
